Make patient consultations more efficient and effective with these brand new patient education videos from Rendia

Do you have difficulty explaining the ins and outs of eye care treatments such as intraocular lenses (IOLs), Descemet’s Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK), or Minimally-Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS)? If so, you’re not alone. Your colleagues requested patient education videos on these topics and others—and Rendia listened.

Read on for an exclusive look at our latest video releases, including tips for where and when to use them, and ideas for relevant messaging at every step of the patient journey.

Considerations for Your IOL Choice

Patients can feel overwhelmed by their options related to cataract surgery. Make it easier by having patients start thinking about whether they’d like to reduce their glasses dependency before the appointment. Our new video, Considerations for Your IOL Choice, provides an overview of what lifestyle factors could be important considerations for the type of IOL a patient chooses.

Send it home with patients via email to get them thinking about the type of IOLs that will best support their daily activities, prior to their next appointment, or have them watch it during their cataract consultation.

Special thanks to Kristin Mills of Ludwick Eye Center and Dr. Keith Liang of Center for Sight for lending their expertise on this topic.

Descemet’s Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK)

With a name like Descemet’s Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty, it’s easy to understand why patients can be intimidated by this treatment. Our new video, DMEK: Overview, clearly explains how this alternative to traditional corneal transplant surgeries can produce better vision results and reduce overall recovery time. Play it in the exam room to help visually explain the surgery to patients.

Minimally-Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS)

Do your glaucoma patients know you offer Minimally-Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS)? Our new video, MIGS: How Micro-stents Work, helps eye care providers better explain how micro-stents effectively reduce intraocular pressure by creating a new pathway for aqueous fluid to drain. Use it in the exam room to explain the surgery to patients during their consultation, and then send it home so they can reference it with family and loved ones.

Special thanks to Dr. Devesh Varma of Prism Eye Institute, Candace Miller and the team at Ludwick Eye Center, and Dr. Nathan Kerr for lending their expertise on this topic.
